It'll be interesting to see how they integrate it.
Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg just shed light on a new 'dislike' button that it's been working on for quite some time now. Finally, people will be able to express more emotion.
“I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it,” said Mark Zuckerberg at a town hall meeting.
The reason they've held off for so long is because Facebook did not want to build a Reddit-type voting system, but rather they would like for their users to express their feelings. "What they really want is the ability to express empathy. Not every moment is a good moment," Zuckerberg said.
Although it is a suprisingly simple concept, Zuckerberg says that "it’s surprisingly complicated to make an interaction that will be simple." So, lookout. We'll FINALLY be able to dislike annoying posts.
